I'm curious about how you get the matte-finish effect on some of your icons. Kind of like these ones:

Anything! :D

I use PS (CS4).

I'm already writing a guide about matte (flat/pastel) coloring, so that's already covered.

I'd like to know how you manage to get your coloring to look like this:

First of all: thanks for the question!

I'm not sure about the second and third ones you gave me. What aspect are you interested in, in particular?

(The last one is pretty much separately colored in)

And the first one maybe falls into the category of matte/flat/pastel I am already writing that guide for.

The icons I've been given as examples for that are these:

Yeah, the way those highly saturated colors pop out and look individually colored without clashing or looking unnatural is what I'm attracted to in those icons. I'd love to know what your process looks like to get that effect.

Will do it, it's super easy tho, it's just a texture that does the dirty job!

What can we request from you (tutorials, Q&A, guides etc. .PSDs are not allowed: Anything goes really. I'm an open book! I don't have much posted from this year but you're welcome to request older icons as well as I save 99% of my PSDs for reference.

There are a few I'm curious about...
How did you get this coloring? LotS caps are such a pain sometimes!

Oh goodness I know! I love LotS but boy can it be rough sometimes! I know I have the last two PSDs and I'm pretty sure I have the Kara one as well, I'll try to get to them this week. :)

What can we request from you (tutorials, Q&A, guides etc. .PSDs are not allowed: Anything is fine. I'm pretty bad at saving PSDs, but I'd say most of my techniques are used regularly in my icon making so I should be able to come up with something. Basically, I'll try my best with whatever is requested.
