During the last year or so I've noticed that Live Journal is becoming more and more quiet. I don't know if this is just me, but it looks like people are leaving LJ and this makes me really sad.

I've been around for about 7 years and I have never seen LJ this quiet. People don't seem to be commenting and interacting with each other like they used to, and some "old" icon makers have stopped posting and sharing icons, graphics, resources and IMO very few new ones are popping up.

Just like we all do in real life, LJ evolves, that's natural, but still, are people moving on to bigger and better things, or has the graphic making community become something that people are not interested in being a part of anymore? Do you think the icon making/sharing community has become too hostile and unfriendly or is there another reason for this? Do you think this is just a phase that will pass and that LJ will go back to "normal" eventually?

Is there anything we can do here at the community or elsewhere to make LJ more alive again, or do you think we just need to let this run it's course?

Again, it might be just me, but I thought this would create some interesting discussions :)
