Twilight: 2nd Banner tutorial.

We ALL simply LOVE Twilight, don't we??

How to make:

Difficulty: Intermediate
Program: PS CS2
Translatable: not sure, but I think it is.

Alright this is gonna take time...So if you don't pay attention to what you do just leave it for another time. I find it great because it can work with any image.

1. Choose your stock. I used this: i42.tinypic.com/kcm2i0.jpg It's colored I know, but I have no idea who did it. Anyway, make a new canvas 400x150 and fill it with #d7d7d7. Make a new layer and
take a small round brush in black, and brush a bit on the lower right corner. It doesn't matter how, just do it. Then use Gaussian Blur on the
brush layer, until you get something similar to this:

2. Now take the pic you chose, and paste it on top of the canvas. Resize it, and move it around to the left. You need to take the Eraser
tool (set to a soft round brush at 150pt) and erase the ends of your pic so that it kinda blends in the background. Then, use Smart
Sharpen on the pic layer (amount: 30, radius: 1) and desaturate it.
 What we have so far:

3. Duplicate the pic layer, and set it to Soft Light 25%. New Selective Color layer (note: it's optional, I just did it to pop out the blacks)
Blacks: 0,0,0, +4

4. Take this texture irene-77.pictiger.com/images/17785843/ by http://bambinainnero.livejournal.com/ Don't resize it, just paste it and move it around so that the 'orb' covers the right lower part. Set to Lighten 21%.

5. Take this texture img509.imageshack.us/img509/9329/grey3fe1.jpg  by Expose42@DA and resize it a bit (to 400 width) and paste it on top, at Multiply 80%.

6. Then make a new layer and use the brush tool to make a round red bolb, set it at Screen 100%. At this point you might want to add text, I duplicated mine, and resized (while lowering the opacity) so that it looks like shodowed.

7. Take this: irene-77.pictiger.com/images/17785842/ by crazykira_22@DA and set it to Difference 60%. You can erase some of it so that the pic doesn't look very dark.

8. Take this one: i39.tinypic.com/2s18a3o.jpg  (I cropped it from a random space picture) and paste it on top. Set it to Lighten 100%. You can duplicate it and move it around too, if you want a more profound effect. Again, you can erase parts you don't want, like I did.

9. Now I made a Selective Color layer to control the color a bit (I couldn't help it! I'm a coloring maniac!). It's not very important, but it looks a lot better if you can do it.

Reds: -100, 0, 0, +100
Whites: +20, 0, +5, 0
Neutrals: -3, 0, 0, 0

10. Finally, make a Brightness/Contrast layer: B -8, C -7.

11. Merge all layers and add a border. Mine is 4pt white.

Pure perfection...

colouring: black & white, graphic effects: textures
