Someone suggested I should make a tutorial, so here it is.
First ever coloring tutorial, so be gentle.
I hope its okay

Step 1
As always, crop your base to 100x100, or whatever size you want.
Step 2
My base was already light enough, but this works best with light bases, so if it's needed duplicate the layer and set to screen, to lighten it.
Step 3
I'm not a fan of saturation layers. I rely much more on selective colouring, so I used a selective colouring layer to bring out the colors, and to get rid of some of the overall yellow tinge of the base.
Layers > New Adjustment layer> Selective Color
Reds: -48, +46, +100, 0
Yellows: -24, +13, +51, 0
Cyans: +100, 0, -100, 0
Blues: +100, 0, -100, 0
Magentas: -100, +100, 0, 0
Whites: 0, 0, -41, 0
Neutrals: +25, 0, -15, 0
Step 4
I still wanted the colors of the icons to be much more vibrant, especially the reds and cyans, as well as losing more of the yellow, so I used a color balance layer.
Layers > New Adjustment layer> Color Balance
Midtones: -23, -17, -46
Shadows: -14, -32, +12
Highlights: -3, 0, -12
Step 5
I still wanted to make the image lighter, and add more cyan, and remove even more yellow from the white.
Layers > New Adjustment layer> Selective Color
Reds: -51, +20, +100, 0
Yellows: -42, +43, +100, 0
Cyans: +100, 0, -100, 0
Whites: 0, 0, -100, 0
Neutrals: +8, 0, -11, 0
Step 6
I was already happy with the coloring at this point, but wanted to bring out the red more. So I used yet another selective coloring layer.
Layers > New Adjustment layer> Selective Color
Reds: -71, +27, +50, 0
Whitess: 0, 0, -73, 0
Neutrals: +25, 0, -4, 0
