Icon Tutorial: Sleeping Beauty (PS CS)
We are going to learn how to make this icon:
I started with a screencap by teh_indy from Sleeping Beauty. I resized and cropped it to 100x100.
Go to Filter >> Sharpen
The next layer is a base stamp from here set to #B35F85.
Change the blending mode to "overlay".
Next, duplicate the bottom layer, desaturate it (Ctrl + Shift + U), and place it above the base stamp. Change the opacity to 50%.
The next layer is a texture from The Magic Box. Select an area you like of it, and place it over your icon. Set the blending mode to hard light.
I then used a border brush set to #E0AC92 (by icons_with_love)
The next layer is just a text brush set to one of the paler colours in the icon.
Finally, the text "Evil" is Arial Black Regular, set to #3A0000 with the blending mode set to "darken".
Your final icon should look something like this:
