coloring effect
Coloring effect for the following icon in PSP8 
It's a long one, but extremely easy!
I love making the hair, lips, and eyes, and skin different colors. Awhile back I figured out how to color them this way. Pretty sure others know how to in different ways but heres a really easy way to do it!
::The Skin::
I cropped a pic of kelly clarksons best features ;) Eyes, Face, Hair, Lips and Skin! I want to give her skin a pale glowy look:
I sharpen and then duplicate > set to softlight >> desaturate >> >>Adjust>> >>Hue and Saturation>> >>Hue/Saturation/Lightness and have your settings like this: Hue: -180 ; Satuartion: 0 and Lightnes:: 0
I merge all layers. Now I copy and paste over the icon >> set to softlight. Merge layers.
Make a new copy of the icon >> then greyscale it >> Image Greyscale >> then >> Image Increase >> 16 million
Then I paste again (the icon you just made a copy of) the icon on top and set to softlight.
Your done with the skin!!
::The Eyes::
Make a new layer!
Have your paint brush settings like this please:
I use this blue gradient
to simply color the eyes with. Its okay if you go out of the hair while coloring. I zoom in too color:
Now I go to blur >> Gaussian blur >> and set the radius to 2 and set the blend mode to dodge (feel free to use the screen, color, overlay, or anyother blend mode you'd like too!) Merge layers.
::The Lips::
I use same technique above >> but I change the blend mode to color legacy.
::The Hair::
...same as above >> but I change the brush size to 100 >> gaussian blur to 6 >> blend mode to screen!
There you have it!!! Below is what the hair looks like in differt blend modes.
