image heavy-ish, i guess.



1. crop your picture to the basic icon size. then sharpen.

2. duplicate your base and set to softlight. then desaturate. now, go to colors>adjust>brightness/contrast (i don't know where it is in earlier or later versions) and set the brightness to 50 and leave the contrast as zero. do not flatten.

3. new raster layer. fill with #000040, a dark blue. set blend mode to exclusion, opacity 100.

4. new raster layer. fill with #FFE0B3, a beige. set blend mode to multiply, opacity 100.

5. now duplicate your BASE, not the already desaturated duplicate, and drag to the top. desaturate and set to softlight.

6. duplicate that duplicate twice.

sorry i put it off for so long. i was busy doing, well, unimportant stuff. =/

again, results will vary with different pictures. sometimes you don't have to mess with the brightness/contrast and sometimes you just have to duplicate the duplicate once.
