not a huge difference, but i think it makes the colours pop a little more...

open pic
> crop
> sharpen
> blur skin (i use luminosity at 100%)
> sharpen eyes (darken, 100%)
> resize pic to 100x100

very basic, yes?

now...
duplicate your base and set to soft light at 100%
new layer > fill with light blue (#cbe2fc) > set to colour burn
new layer > fill with light pink (#fccbe6) > set to colour burn
new layer > fill with light green (#befcd4) > set to colour burn
merge all layers > unsharp mask, i set mine at 26- but set at whatever works best for your pic
save as.

'tis all... so, any good? it's only my second attempt at a tutorial, so feedback would be nice if you have the time
