Tutorial #11.

Today we'll be going from this to this:

I use PS7, but it should work with other programs.

I had recently discovered this tutorial, and I positively loved it (still do).
My tutorial is based off of it. The first part is basically the same.

Okay, onto the tutorial.

Make your 100 x100 base.
Duplicate it twice. Set both to screen.
On the top Screen layer go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation and make the Saturation +50.
On that same layer, go to Image > Adjustments > Variations. Click once on more Blue, and twice on more Cyan.
Go to the other Screen layer. Go to Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast and put Brightness as 30 and Contrast as 40.
Paste this on top of all your layers. Set to Exclusion.
Make a new layer. Stamp your image. Set that to Soft Light.
Duplicate your base. Drag it to the top and set it to Soft Light 55%.
Duplicate that and Desaturate it.
Paste this and set it to Colour Burn.

Now, this part is optional, but highly recommended.

Make a new layer and stamp your image.
Go to Image > Adjustments > Colour Balance.
Mess around with the colours until you get something you like.

Another example:

The header to my journal is also an example of this.

I'd love to see what you think and what you get. =)
