Watercolor Stripes using PSP

Have you downloaded tons of texture brushes and rarely use them?

Learn how to make this:
using one texture brush and two colors.

Start with an image size: 100x100.
01. Flood fill your canvas with white.
02. Pick two colors, one for your foreground color and one for your background color. For this tutorial, I have chosen: #818d6d and #d9b698.
03. Create a new layer.
04. Select Paint Brush (B).
05. Choose your texture brush. I've choosen
(meleada's papercuts04 009) with this setting:

06. Then I opened up the Brush Variance (F11)* and played around with step 07 until I got the setting that I like:

07. As a rule for me, I always use guides when creating, because I can't draw a straight line to save my life, on paper or the computer. Sometimes, pressing Shift before clicking your mouse will result in a straight line across, but that feature comes and goes with me. Anyhoo, you can place your horizontal line anywhere, and drag your mouse across the canvas. I've started at the top.

08. If you like what you see, select your pick tool (K) and drag your boxes vertically. The longer you stretch them, the lighter they become.

Now you have watercolor stripes. The possibilities are endless. You can play around with different brushes for different effects. If you like the settings, you can save them to use again. Just select the presets: paint brush on your paint brush toolbar and select save
.
