I got really bored, and so I decided to make a new tutorial. It is very translatable and very very veeeery easy, and I'd love to see your results =).
Step 1:
Get your base. Do anything you do, when you're making an icon base. I did nothing.
Step 2:
Duplicate your base, go to "Adjust -> Intelligent Auto Correction", and set it to 50% opacity. Merge your layers.
Step 3:
Make a new layer, fill it with #e68f1e, and set it to Multiply 100%.
Step 4:
Make another layer, fill it with #04084f, and set it to Exclusion 43%.
Step 5:
Duplicate your base, drag it to top, and set it to Screen 100%.
Step 6:
Make a new layer, fill it with #9cc2fa, and set it to Colour Burn, 50%.
Step 7:
This is our last step. Duplicate your base, drag it to top, and set it to Overlay, 100%.
And that's it. You're finished. It was as easy as promised, wasn't it? =)
