Original icon
I couldn't remember EXACTLY what settings I used to make this icon when I did, but I tried to get it as close as possible. I made the original icon using Photoshop using Selective Color a lot of ya'll might not use Photoshop so I tried doing a tutorial with PSP8 too, The colors didn't come out exactly the same as the one using Photoshop but I tried anyways. Both tutorials are fairly easy. Hope ya'll enjoy this little tutorial =)

Tutorial using Photoshop
Crop your picture and then Resize it to 100x100
Duplicate your base and set it to Screen 50 then Merge All
Selective Color Reds -100,0,+100,0 Yellows -100,0,-100,0 Blues -100,0,-100,0 Neutrals +30,0,0,0
New Raster Layer fill it with #DCD4D4 and set it to Burn 30 then Merge All
Duplicate and set it to Soft Light 100
And your done =) of course you'll have to play around with the settings depending on what picture you use
Tutorial using PSP8

New Raster Layer fill it with #F4D5A4 and set it to Burn 50 then Merge All
Duplicate and set it to Soft Light 50
