light texture tutorial

How to make this kind of texture,
very easy, made in Photoshop CS, but transferable.

here @ crisscross_icon

1.: At first you need your black background, the size is up to you:

2.: Draw with a brush (light yellow, e.g. #FFF799) on a new layer with the settings "spacing" 1% (in the brush section, brush tip shape),"flow" 7% and "hardness" 100% (edit: here a screen cap). If you don't use PS, you can soften 2 sides with the blur tool.

3.: Duplicate the layer, set it to screen and use the filter Gaussian Blur, Radius ca. 10 px (but this up to the size you've chosen).

4.: New fill layer, set to overlay, color is up to your taste, I normally use #FF0000^^.

5.: To lighten it up a bit, I draw with a with the brush on a new layer and use the Gaussian Blur filter again,:

then set it to softlight and duplicate it:

6.(optional): I paste a grunge texture (this one, made by me) on it and set it to color burn:

The End =D.

I'm from Germany, so please apologize possible spelling and grammar mistakes ^^°.

Please comment (and credit, if you use my grunge texture).
Feel free to friend/watch for updates.
