Hey-ya!

This is the original image (1024x680); resize and crop it as you prefer.

a). Add a new layer > Adjustment Layer > Levels
RGB
4 - 1,18 - 245

b). Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance
MIDTONES
-3 ; +1 ; -4

SHADOWS
+1 ; -7 ; -8

LIGHTS
0 ; +10 ; +14

c). Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation
SATURATION: +12

d). Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Colour
REDS
-24, 0, 0, 0

YELLOWS
0, 0, -17, 0

WHITES
0, 0, +43, 0

BLACKS
0, 0, 0, +7

e). Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Colour Balance
MIDTONES
-5, +1, +11

SHADOWS
0, 0, +4

f). Create a new Fill Layer, and fill it with #CDCDCD. Drag your level doooowwwn down down, right below your base.

g). Duplicate the Fill Layer. Set it (the duplicated) to Multiply, 20-30% opacity.

h). Set your base-level to Color Burn.

As you have probably noticed, this tutorial *really* works better with low-saturated and pretty bright images.
