What makes a trendy icon right now?

You see, I want to get out of my icon making bubble (which consists of making, essentially, bases) so I'm probably making a claim at 10x10variated, since I'm forced to follow rules and do things I'm not used to doing in Photoshop

The use of spiderweb textures and moon textures can be pretty common right now. I would recommend you check out more popular iconmakers' icons because that might give you more of an idea of what's trendy. I recommend serene_infinity, italian_jewels, mindyourhead_ss, and dustypaper for some pretty/popular/trendy icons. And if you ever come across a particular texture that you can't find, lets_find_it might help. =)
