Animation: The first one is okay, although when it reaches the end it abruptly stops and then repeats itself. I suggest fading it out to make the transition run smoothly. The second icon is a bit choppy, and also that texture on it with the dots is such an outdated look, although it may have been creative one or two years ago it doesn't really look good on this icon, plus it loses a lot of quality on your icon. The third icon is my favorite, although there's bunch of colors that clash together. The fourth one is okay but the dot texture ruins it :/.
Cut-Outs: The cutouts don't impress me much. I think you should've spruced up the image more and brightening up a bit more. The fourth one is my favorite :).
Text: The first one is nice, I don't know if that font suites well with that icon, maybe try courier new. :). Again, the font doesn't suit well on the icon. Try something like times new roman or georgia. The third one has got to be my favorite. The fourth one, again has fonts that don't look suitable for the icon itself. Try fontaddicts to

(Deleted the last one, because I forgot to sign in) The animation icons with the dots, that happened when I saved them. I had to lessen the quality, otherwise they'd of been about 100kb, which is too big for livejournal icons.
The second free choice is Yuna from FFX-2, it was for a headless challenge. (Needless to say, it didn't place).
I'm going to say NO, but it's only because of your animations. And cut-outs. Otherwise, your free choice and text are, for the most part, lovely. I absolutely adore the 4th text (is that Celine I see?). You seem to really have an eye for texturing and gradients, though be careful not to overdo it in some places and effect the image the quality. I think you need to refine - make your cut-out edges smoother, make your text fit the images better, be careful with how you use brushes. That sort of stuff. Otherwise, I think you're well one your way. The animations need the most work. You have the right idea, but they just aren't at the level of some of your other stuff. (That third animation is gorgeous, though.)
So for now, no. But definitely try again, please, after a little work. ^_^
Animations: The second and last make me think 'why were they animated?' The fourth one is such a short loop that it gives the onlooker next to nothing. The second one is just confusing, it's not nearly clear enough and the animation is choppy. :|
I like the first one best. I think you overdid it a bit in the third by having tears leak from both eyes at once, but alright.
Cut-outs: I like the third one best. You could have made the second one come alive by sharpening her lines, deepening the shadows, textures, or whatnot. It's just kind of dull like this. :| the first one is OK but the shape of the last one doesn't work with the image, in my opinion. Like the concept thought. :)
Text:I think you could need a little more variety in your font folder. :| The slim font you use a lot (first text, 'remind' of third text, 'so glad for the' in fourht cut-out, etc.) looks kind of, how to put it, immature or newbie like. It doesn't blend in well with the images, which are some well manipulated. The text should be
