This is a rather complicated icon but ill do my best to tutorialize it for you :) No PSD with this one (no whining, im too lazy to upload it)
Step 1: Crop your base.
Step 2: New Adjustment layer> Hue & Saturation
Saturation +20
Step 3: New Adjustment Layer> Selective Color
Reds: -100 0 0 0
Cyans: 100 0 0 0
Blues: 100 0 0 0
Neutrals: 15 0 0 -22
Step 4: New Adjustment Layer> Hue & Saturation
Saturation +10
Step 5: New Adjustment Layer> Color Balance
Shadows: 0 0 -15
Midtones: -16 0 17
Highlights: 0 0 0
Step 6: New Adjustment Layer> Selective Color
Reds: -42 0 0 0
Cyans: 100 0 0 0
Blues: 100 0 0 0
Neutrals: 35 0 15 -17
Step 7: New Adjustment Layer> Channel Mixer
Output Channel: Red
red: 110
green: 7
blue: -7
constant: -4
Output Channel: Green
red: 1
green: 100
blue: 7
constant: -2
Output Channel: Blue
red: 12
green: 4
blue: 83
constant: 4
Step 8: New Adjustment Layer> Selective Color (THIS IS OUR LAST COLOR LAYER, SO YOU MAY STOP HERE IF YOU CHOOSE)
Reds: -41 0 0 0
Cyans: 100 0 0 0
Neutrals: -18 0 24 -12
Now for our effects. First, you are going to print stamp your image (Ctrl-Alt-Shift-E). Make sure this layer is ON TOP.
Now, goto Filters>Blur>Radial. Make sure you set it to appx 30 radius, and BEST is checked on the options box. If it doesnt look 'blurry enough', repeat your radial blur. Next, use a soft eraser at about 50% opacity to erase over the face of your subject. Don't erase too much or itll look funny. Make sure it blends well. This is how mine looks:
Finally, the light effects. Find yourself some light flecks, flares, etc. and add them on top of this layer. Set each light layer on LIGHTEN. Finally, add any words/letters/etc. to your icon and you are finished :) Thanks for taking the time to read my tutorial. It was a little complicated to write out with the diff effects and i went by memory on some of it (so if it doesnt come out exact, i apologize)
