I'm not a member at icon_tutorial (though I lurk from time to time) so am replying to this thread, even though the rest of your comments are over there :-)
Thank you sooo much for this. I had no idea so much work went into it, but then again, it's such a fantastic icon, I'm not really surprised it took so may layers to achieve! I really appreciate you writing all this up &hearts&hearts&hearts
More or less copied you exactly except I used the top of the photo and not the side. Nowhere near as good as yours but even so, I really like this a lot :-)
Ooh, both of these are really nice! The texture is almost like a halo around Erica's hair in the first one. XD And I like the effect of the texture combined with the edgy crop in the second one.
I'm glad you liked the tut! Let me know if you need anything else. ♥
You're just so sweet :-) But I'm good now, thanks :-)
I'm glad you approve of my efforts ::grin:: I still don't like the second one much, other than the crop. The show has such amazing camera work that I was trying to capture that element even on a normal shot cap...
This is gorgeous and so helpful! I especially appreciate the bit on the rectangular marquee. I never knew it could do that and will definitely be taking advantage of that particular tool a lot in the future. One question - who are the textures used by?
