I just read the book and rewatched the movie for the first time since I was like 12 and whoa, it's not nearly as scary now. The movie, anyway. The book is still creeptastic.

You're right, the book gives me the willies and the movie makes me giggle. But Tim Curry forever made me afraid of clowns.
