as we've talked about above, i can forgive the low-qual images....newbie to resource making. as for posting them in a texture comm....the mods there shouldn't have approved it either (it's moderated posting).

Well, IMHO anything that adds texture to an icon is technically a "texture". I know I have used some pretty strange things on an icon to get a particular effect.

That doesn't mean I don't find those ugly as sin. Because yikes!

I agree with this. I take pictures and shots of the weirdest things and use them as textures. It's a fun process as well.

This reminds me, I have to empty my camera.

well, if you have a read of the comments on the person's website, they explain to another person that the 'textures' are meant to be used as icon bases.
