We haven't had a meme in awhile because the participation has been fairly low for the past few. But, hey, I'm feeling up to a new one; hopefully you are as well! Just regular, old fashioned style~
Hi :) I would like to give this a try! I feel like my icons are finally going where I want them to go lately, but I would love some concrit to see what I can improve. I've picked some icons from my latest post, some of which I feel they need something more, and some that I think are in the right direction. So yeah, any concrit would most appreciated!
Thank you very much for the (not at all rusty!) concrit :) About the first one, the whole sentence is kind of important, but maybe dividing it a bit more would have made the text more readable. About the second one, I had the same feeling. I was in doubt about posting it, but couldn't really figure out what was wrong with it so did it anyway. Maybe it's indeed the background tint that I should have adjusted and made it pop out more with some text. Thanks for the tip on the fourth one :D I tried various background colours but haven't really found something that works. But maybe some blueish or purple who would make it a bit more outstanding. Your colouring was definitely helpful, going to play around some more with those icons! :D Thanks again!
01 - I think the color, contrast, and lighting on this is prefect. However, the text doesn't quite seem to fit. The letters look too squished together and maybe a bit too sharpened. I think the color of the text is off as well. Perhaps an off-white or light beige with lowered opacity would look better. Though, I am no expert on text, believe me

Disclaimer: I really shouldn't attempt to give concrit here since my own icons are kind of... awful compared to yours :P, but I'll try anyway, I suppose

Thank you so much! For some reason I really struggle with my edges looking oversharpened. I try to soften them out and then it looks so bad. XP I need to figure something out, lol. Thank you! ^_^
Hi :) I figured I should try and finally ask for some concrit here, since I feel kind of stuck with my icons since a long time. I know that there are a lot of areas that I need to improve on, but I can't really seem to pin down which the most annoying or worse flaws in them are, or where to start working on them. Any little piece of advice will be extremely helpful. :)
Thank you so much, everything you mentioned is very helpful indeed! ♥
I completely overlooked the 'missing foot' in 5, lol - probably because I knew from the cap that she was running down some stairs, so it didn't seem weird to me at all (I swear the foot wasn't there to begin with!) - and now it's all I can see, haha -.-
3 was a bit of an experiment, I couldn't decide if it was looking cool or entirely stupid in the end. ^^ I see what you mean with the white face and the colors deviding it in halfs now, I felt that something was wrong somehow, but didn't know what really.
I often seem to have trouble making the texture/backgrounds really match the subject, for some reason my own judgement fails me there more often than not, ugh.
Again, thank you so much, I'll work on these some more keeping your concrit in mind and see where it leads me :)
Hi :) I took the liberty of browsing a bit through your whole icon community and want to say that I think you improved lots with your last icon post. You played around more with crops and composition there and fixed some of the quality issues some your icons seem to have. Since you mentioned especially looking for areas that you could improve on, I'm going to give a bit more 'rambling all over the place' concrit than concrit especially on these five icons. I hope that's okay :)
Because I think the most major area you could improve on is the quality and sharpness of your icons over all. It especially shows in numbers 2, 3 and 4 here. They all seem a bit blurry and would benefit from sharpening. I'm not sure what you're preferred method of sharpening is, but I always love the unsharpened mask, especially on a lowered opacity. Number 5 here is a lot better example of sharpening, as are for example these and theseIcons like 3 and 4 could benefit from a more daring crop I think, but that might come to personal preferences. These are all
