Itachi Icon tutorial for Photoshop

Aug 26, 2006 19:53

This is my first tutorial, please be kind ^^;;

We're going to go from:

to

I used photoshop 6 for this, I'm pretty sure it's translatable to other versions and programs.

First of all, we'll need a base. I'm going to use this Itachi base from
vraxis

Now for the fun. X3
---

-Create a layer above the base layer and floodfill the layer with a indigo-like color (#190438).

-Then, set the blending mode of the layer to exclusion (opacity 100%). The Icon should now look something like this;

---

-Now create a new layer over the exclusion layer; floodfill that layer with a beige-like color (#C8A46D)

-Change the opacity of that layer to  and set the blend mode to soft light (opacity 30%). the icon should now look like this:

--

-Above that layer, create a gradient (#676EB0 to #C8A46D)

-Set the blending mode to multiply (opacity 70%)

---

-I think it's a bit on the murky side, so I'm going to duplicate the base layer, put it on top of the other layers, desaturate it and set the mode to soft light (opacity 100%). I'm happy with the result.

---

-Now to sugar coat it; I added a black, 2px border around it

---

-I add some text and then I'm done.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial ^^. I hope it helps someone. Feel free to ask questions and to show me what you've come up with using my tutorial ^^ And you dont have to follow the tutorial exactly; use your creativity and experiment ^^
