Just one question- why exactly is it called the 'Renaissance' style?

because I was trying to mimic the aged canvas style of renaissance pieces--notably the Mona Lisa.

Ah, I see. It was the only thing I could really see as 'old' in it, since the icon didn't have actual characteristics of Renaissance art. It looks very pretty, though. :)
