Interesting article! (Yes, your things are worth being called "articles", okay. Write a freaking magazine already. XD) I've always been so attracted to the male characters myself as well. though I've never had any problems with or lack of males in my life.

DAFFY IS MY FAVORITE. I grew up with Looney Tunes but hmm, I don't even KNOW why but didn't really have an appreciation for them between then and now. I suppose it all works in phases... like I have my Disney phases and my anime phases and now my older toon phases. I guess it was just something I knew I liked but didn't see myself as a real 'FAN' of but that's definitely changing! I also think I used to hate Daffy but now I adore him, go figure.
STEAL AWAY MY FRIEND, Daffy's magnificence should be shared with all. 8| So long as I can steal some of your icons in return! <3
This was a really interesting read! I grew up in a Christian family and am Christian myself, but my parents basically let me watch whatever I want because they know I'm not going to suddenly turn into a Satanist of Wiccan if I watch one too many Supernatural episodes (while we're on that note, there is no such thing as "too many" Supernatural episodes XD). I watched Invader Zim and enjoyed it for being so. Well. Invader Zim. Now, I don't think it's by any means a good show for toddlers to watch, but I won't object to older kids watching. It's not as if it's campaigning for kids to go out and take over the world themselves. It's entertaining that's really the whole point of the show.
Also, going back to your "boys as role models" idea, I feel the same way. I have a couple of female role models in both cartoons and real life, but I tend to gravitate towards the boys. In the end, gender really isn't a big deal.
I'm definitely going to touch on Veggietales soon! I'm in the process of writing parts 3 and 4 to this, and it may continue after that as I realized I have a lot more to say than I originally though. That's how part II ended up so much more insightful than part I. I also did, for the record, mean to touch on Digimon as well, but I didn't because it would have required me running off on tangents as to why it was relevant (because I got into it as a teenager, not a child). I've made some analytic entries about Digimon and Veggietales before though, and plan to now include then in the similar entries to these I'm planning, so I'll link you to those later! (I have to run to my volunteer job at the moment, but wanted to respond right away!)
