"If 50 million people say a foolish thing, it's still a foolish thing."
-Anatole France.

keep that in mind. 90% of germany (well, i don't know the percent, but whatever) supported the nazis, too.

I can accept atheism as a positive thing, as I am athiest. I've been struggling with that same direction thing you're talking about, and it is hard. I haven't found a way to conquer it, and it would be so much easier to believe in God and just be happy with it, but I know I can't. So I am learning about other religions, philosophies, etc. to figure things out. Not necessarily to find a religion to follow, but just to get an understanding of purpose, if that makes any sense. I don't know if that helps. I guess I'm just trying to say don't settle for what is easy, find what is right for you. Sorry for my incoherence.

incoherence? nah, it made perfect sense.

It's quite comforting to know that I'm not alone in feeling this way, so thanks for the comment. It was helpful.

I haven't had much of a chance to look in to many things myself... Do you have any suggestions as to where I should begin?

Well, anyways, I wish you luck in your searches. If you come across anything you think may be helpful to me, be sure to let me know.

You probably do believe in some sort of higher power, but you just don't realize it. It's tricky to explain, even to yourself, exactly what your beliefs are. I had a period of confusion myself, where i knew that my beliefs didn't really fit in with Christianity. It took me a few years to sort things out after i finally gave up on trying to believe something that i just didn't. My advice would be to examine other religions and spiritual beliefs. You will benifit in two ways: you will have a much greater understanding of people in general, and you may come across something that matches what you believe or very nearly so. Sometimes it helps you to be able to describe your feelings if you can base it on somebody else's experience. I had that sort of revelation in Mr. Timm's class, actually, when we were discussing newton's watchmaker approach to god ( ... )
