Things at the Mansion were tense. She'd tried to avoid it, spending time in the garden, or the classroom that would be hers in a few weeks, but in the end all it did was lead to commments about her avoiding the others. He had come to the Nexus to get away from the stress of his house-in-progress and sought out the lake because truly clean water didn't seem to exist anymore on Midgard.

When he saw the woman and child there already, he considered retreating, but instead allowed his steps to fall a little louder as he approached them.

"Hello lady." He of course uses the word as an honorific, as originally intended.

Her fingers hovered, midkeystroke though Emma didn't turn to face the steps. Her mind reached for the intruders, pushing out and trying to see whom it was she could feel there behind her.

Finding resistance, she turned her head to look at him. "Oh, Hello...' She paused, setting the laptop aside and rising.

"I don't believe I've ever gotten your name in all the times we've talked." No preamble, never one to hedge on things in the least.

He smiles a little. "I'm called Grey; my daughter's name is Iva. Might I have your name?"
