I wish upon a star
The brightest in the sky
But wishes seem so far
And I can only wonder why
Why I laid there all those nights
All alone to sit and cry?
Why did we have all those fights?
Why couldn't i just die?
Then i cry a single tear
For each pain that i have known
For all my growing fear
Why am i so alone?
For you say you're here for me
To guide me as i grow
I wish you would just let me be

You say you care about my fate
Then why won't you let it be mine?
Why is your plan oh so great?
Why must i walk such a straight line?
You give me all the answers
To the questions i never ask
Then you send me on a journey
To complete an impossible task
You want me to grow
But yet you hold me back
And with all the things i know
What else do i now lack?
What is keeping me from moving on
Why are you still holding me here
Why is it a battle? And why have you won?
When i feel that i am so near?
So as i look into the sky
I realize i'm still so far
So my tear turns to a full on cry
