Okay, I realize I went totally over the top about my excitement when I found the gay bar with country music. So I decided to venture out last night to ANOTHER straight country bar where I was told that "young people" go. The theory being that these people would not be in their 60s and missing teeth right? I don't know where you went, but Carol's is the only country bar that matters.

However, it's full of both young hipsters and ugly old scary people on the weekends. It's definitely not so much for the picking up or the line dancing--they're old-school country all the way. The band is phenomenal, but they do the classics, not that new-jack pop-country. You want Merle Haggard or Loretta Lynn or Kenny Rogers they gotcha, but not so much with the Brooks and Dunn or the "man, I feel like a woman".

Which is fine with me, cuz that stuff ain't country anywhoo.

I'm not a line dancer AT ALL, so that's fine by me, but I need fast paced music to make my feet move... so I guess that makes me more "new-jack pop-country" huh?
