Alive and Reading

It's been a wet, chilly spring, but finally my daffodils are blooming and the tulips aren't far behind. I've been using most of my computer time to revise a MG novel (not done yet) and to keep the OhMG news column current on the Mixed-Up Files blog (www.fromthemixedupfiles.com). But I'm still here, still reading. Here are a few books I've enjoyed ( Read more... )

It's always good to know you're alive and reading, and bonus points, as you're revising, too!

Our gardens seem in the same state. Wow, yellow.

I love those yellow flowers, but tulips are still my favorite spring bulb. My husband braved the mud last week and put in some spinach and peas. Hope they make it!

Laurie, I've missed you and your book reviews too!
Any western visits on the horizon?

I miss you, too! Catgirl is going to a sleep-away camp on the Oregon coast this summer. We'll be dropping her off in Portland at the end of July (and then blasting up to BC to take Tornado Boy to hockey camp) and then coming back to Portland mid August to pick Catgirl up. Maybe we can meet then. I'd love to see you....

And one more book recommendation. If you haven't read it yet, THE WATER SEEKER (Kimberly Willis Holt) is probably the best thing I've read in a year. I listened to the audiobook on a long car ride and then went out and bought the book.

Sounds great--I've put it on hold at the library now! Thanks!
Wow, it sounds like you've got a busy summer full of road trips. We'll be gone between August 15-21, but should be around other than that. I would love to see you!

Yargh. Sounds like you'll be gone when we return to pick up Catgirl. Maybe we'll be able to meet when we drop her off. I'll be in touch! Do you have any book recommendations for me? I'm listening to Jennifer Holm's Our Only May Amelia on audiobook. If you haven't read it, it's set in Astoria.
