A lesson in beekeeping

 I'm feeling a bit more normal today, after my  beekeeping mishap on Sunday.
 For the past few weekends, I've been busy doing shows in the Midwest. I should have had new bees delivered a month or more ago, but with the cool temperatures, my supplier is running a month or more behind. He moved me to the front of the list, but I had to pick them up at ( Read more... )

The stings probably hurt worse than the pen, but I keep one around for kids. Allergic reactions to bees tend to subside with age...

I'd love to learn beekeeping. It would be facing a fear of bees in general that I have. Plus, I LOVE fresh honeycomb.. :)

I think the commute would kill me, but if its on a weekend, I am game.

I'm always up for a honey harvest! When I was a little kid (6 or 7) I used to go around scooping up bees with my hands and carrying them around...until one day my mother asked me what I had in my hands, and freaked-out when I showed her. :) I had no idea they could sting.

I have plenty of bees... if you ever feel the need to run your fingers through them or just scoop up a handful, just stop on by!

Lol, I actually did that as a teen. I had snake cages in my bedroom. My ambition at that time was to be a herpetologist.
