BAM PERSONAL JOURNAL. This thing sure is a thing that exists. And now, like Prof, I am ideally going to use it to spam LPs. What am I looking to try?
This asshole! Whether or not I'll stick with it is pretty debatable, but to get started there is going to be a vote. Not on whether or not I should do it, mind--OG1 just has two main routes to choose between at the start. Several disclaimers: If I do this game plus OG2, I won't be replaying for branching paths. I'll also be using a limited selection of cheats: Infinite money and infinite pilot points (which can, but won't in this case, be used to increase characters' stats). This is to make the games move faster, as they are really, really goddamn tedious in many places if played normally. Now, here's your choice of paths.
The SRX Route
starring
Name: Ryusei Date
Personality: Dork (Overexcited)
Label: Mecha fanboy
Combat Role: Vaguely well-rounded fighter
Comments: The SRX route, for what it's worth, is More Canon than the alternative, or so I recall. It might be best for LP purposes as, as the main route, it's a little more careful about showing you the ropes and easing you into the game. Ryusei is a pretty entertaining guy, though it took me until OG2 to really like him.
or The ATX Route
starring
Name: Kyosuke Nanbu
Personality: Strong/Silent (Secretly crazy)
Label: Gambler
Combat Role: Charging in and making explosions
Comments: The ATX route, on the other hand, is generally considered More Awesome. A few big fan favorite characters show up sooner on this route, and Kyosuke himself is, by a wide margin, a badder ass than Ryusei. He's also more of a straightman, though, remaining a little hard to read (I.E. boringly serious dude) until later on.
Now, keep in mind: After roughly halfway through the game, the routes merge and only certain events are affected by your choice of main character. You're not voting on which character to Not Get.
