Are you using the recipe from Cooking Light for the pumpkin black bean soup? Missing being able use processed cans or mixes. The sodium in one serving (1/2 cup) is a major chunk of my daily allowance of sodium. Making a huge effort to try and do a crockpot and oven dish tonight and freeze the rest before it gets SO hot. Wanted to make tofu enchiladas but don't have any frozen tofu right now. Guess we better stir fry this week as the snow pea pods are piling up from the garden too.

Check the cans you'll be shocked where sodium hides. Most canned goods are high in salt even organics.

In the soup I think a lot of it is in the beans so all you need to do is soak some dried ones over night.

I use the canned for sake of ease of cooking, but I rince my canned beans off well. I doubt it washes off that much, but any little bit helps!

crazy!! I don't eat anything canned except beans cause I'm too lazy to soak and cook..And pasta sauce in a jar=but I know alot of sodium is that too...thankfully I don't use it much..

still shaking my head at the amounts!

I JUST (like 20 mins ago!) bought some Dannon 'Light & Fit" yogurt, only 60 calories adn 3 grams of carbs... Blueberry flavor too!

Cool! I've bought the light yogurt too, but I find I don't enjoy them much.

My favorite is the Dannon Black Cherry though!

I rather buy some plain fage and add in just a wee bit of natural sugar rather then chemicals these days... I just feel much more satisfied and I need the fiber and nutrients from he actual fresh berries.

But then again I'm not a strict carb counter either though.
