I know. I have to go buy new shoes too - I have had mine for more than a year - and even though they look pristine on the outside, they do break down and IMO they do so even faster if you carry extra weight...so... I trust that you don't wear them to do anything BUT workout? If not, you should because wearing your workout shoes on the street (every day wear that is) is about the worst thing...
Good luck. I've never had anyone analyze my gait - I know I walk on the outside - I just buy what feels alright and try a few moves that I normally do in class. If my feet go numb or on fire when I wear them - I take them back!
