Well Put. What bugs me is how thye seem to think the average American is such a moron that if they try to make it sound patriotic, everyone will just agree and shut up about it.
I have to say, I am really disappointed in all of these comments. Peace would be awesome and we all should want peace. But you all forget these fuckers would kill you in a minute. Do you all really think if we offered a olive branch to extremist they would except? If you do, your brain is fried.
These extremist want us all dead. And you all feel ok about it. Whatever. PS. I am not pro war, but do you think they would stop if we did? I think not.
well, I agree with you that there will always be aggressors that need to be stopped. I am not even saying that I wouldn't have done SOME of things Bush has done, were I in his place.
I am not even a pacifist, necessarily, but I don't believe in starting problems where they do not exist.
I am not even opposed to building up the armament for preventative measures. I do not comndone working with elemants that have been proven to cause cancer in those who work with them. This is horribly irresponsible. This is being an enemy to one's own people.
It's sick.
Why build weapons that 7 other countries also have when each could wipe out the whole planet. Do you want to be the first ones to do it?
Stop stamping on the rights of your own citizens and maintain freedom the way that Roosevelt would. By letting the people in on it without compromising the independant lives they lead at home.
One thing I have struggled with is trying to figure out if Jesus was a pacifist? What do you think?
This is a man who said “if someone strikes you on the cheek offer the other” and “pray for you enemies”. Yet, he called Pharisees serpents and tossed tables at the temple.
To be honest with you, my emotions run high on this subject and I am torn.
I want by friend (who was a grooms man in my wedding) and my brother-in-law to come home form Iraq as soon as possible.
Every report of a us casualty, I fear it is them.
But when I look at the nature of these extremists, such as their beheadings and bombings of fellow Muslims, I understand that these are not freedom fighters.
They have no feelings for the innocent, no empathy. They are murders.
What good are they promoting? They are fighting on grounds of twisted theology, not much different than the Christian crusades, which I also despise.
I am no expert on Jesus but I really like alot of the things that he's reported to have said. I like the fact that he bailed Isthemus (sp?) out of his fate because Isthemus spoke up on his behalf in his darkest hour. I can appreciate having any friend or relative overseas and the accompanying uncertainties. I don't like the idea of a religeon that sees westerners as disposable infidels. I do see their point that they feel The U.S will choose to protect some countries but never a country like Palestine from Israel. This is why they hate the U.S. I feel because they turn a blind eye toward Israel's activities. Trying to settle these arguments by starting Jihad was ludicrous, and irresponsible

I like Americans so I have no problem with it, wherever you are from. In a way I'm glad you decided to speak up. Nokomisjeff left and I liked the fact that he would speak up and defend Bush no matter what. It's just that people get charged up about these kind of issues on all sides. then the insults start to fly. I am not a Bush proponent but I'll defend your right to speak up for him to the death. I beleive in freedom of speech, and I like to think we can all gain a little something froma different point of view.
All I ask is that you try not piss everybody off in the process. Fair enough?
Not to jump into the fire pit, because I don't want to get slammed for my opinions or my thoughts. I think I was the only one on my LJ that didn't mind having Bush for president. I have my moments where I really am angry with him. And any of us can have strong feelings one way or the other, but the simple fact is, he can't please all of the people all of the time. I don't agree with him all the time, and I don't disagree with him all of the time. I wouldn't want to be in his position, and in all fairness, not one president since way back when, has done what is popular, or in all fairness right. It's a large responsibility to have, and popular vote did keep him in presidency
