Ugh, in places like Minnesota where they have hot summers and very cold winters, they seem to heat to 26 in the winter and air condition to 21 (if not 19 or 20) in the summer. So whenever you go inside in the summer, you're freezing, and whenever you go inside in the winter, you have to strip off three layers and you're still hot.

Japan in the winter was massively overheated everywhere. Can't speak for summers.

i'm not sure i understand the point of siestas in the context of energy conservation. wouldn't a gap taken out of the afternoon extend working hours well into darkness, thereby causing businesses to run more lighting and keep hvac working at peak for longer? obviously i am missing something.

... and i won't even get into people driving their commute both ways for whatever reason during the gap. which some would do, almost certainly.

What is this, the motto of you people's "MiniFree"? You won't trap me with your Orwellian logic. Especially because if global warming is caused by the carbon, why are the Martian polar ice caps melting?
