that was difficult, and i love poetry! also, i kept feeling like i was cheating because almost all the poets i could think of were canadian, and many of them would be people no one who doesn't live in vancouver is likely to have heard of. it's not the same as being able to spout off The Big Names, you know? I was good with Sappho and Sylvia and Emily Dickenson and Atwood, but then i kept feeling like i should only get 'half a point' for the lesser knowns. *g* P. K. Page is canadian isn't she? (and lesser know, too?)

Full points for obscure Canadian poets! Four out of my ten are Canadian (yep, Page is), and I am a little sad that I didn't remember Margaret Avison in time, because except for Kienlen and Oliver, I picked poets I read a lot when I was a teenager. Because that is where my head went for this meme, apparently.

If one were to send you a proper, snail-mail letter, would one's letter show up or be snatched by mail thieves?

I don't think I would get the letter! I have an address in Florida that I'll e-mail you, though.

It makes me want to read more poetry. Clearly its work here is done.
