... they reminded me of animals...

A point was well made by laura converse to one of my entries and it is, of course, oh so true.

i once wrote an entry about my dog and how she is pointless, but satisfied. she is content because her simple mind cannot search for strange mysteries; nor does she care to ( Read more... )

I disagree...to an extent.

Sure most people out there are being mindless drones and have no will fo their own, but I do most of the things people do. I see nothing wrong with having a structured time of shouting and yelling to support teams both academic and athletic.

I have fun because I want to. I join in the "THREE CLAPS!" because affirmation isn't negative. I don't clap everytime because often it's for something pointless, but I choose to join as an individual.

Unlike most of the people not clapping, I choose to opt out at times because I see no purpose, not just for the sake of non-conforming. The guys that follow the individuals in sitting, are just choosing to become a drone to a different program, one that I see has a more negative effect and attitude than the larger one.

People need to just relax and not see every act of unison as an attack on their individuality. Sure it's almost disgusting to see such chaos, but I see no harm in it...

I agree with your reasons and how you deal with the events during assemblies, Corey.

I apologize to have included people who choose to be involved at their own time and will.
My main focus was on the people that were mindless and acted as drones.
I admit that I have participated in some of the acts, also for my own reason, and mostly to applaud and support certain teachers, such as the girl's soccer coach. But I still dislike the way how food is thrown up into the crowd and how it causes such a ruckus. For some reason, I really don't like how they have that "THREE CLAPS-!" thing. I’m not one to see every act of unison as an attack on my individuality, just this one action happened to make me sick.

I hope you can understand, I did not mean to be closeminded to the other side of things.

ugh

I'm just really irritated with everything for some reason.
I have a fever, maybe that's why, along with everything else that's been happening this past semester.

sighh...

mahhh

I'm sorry for being so agressive, but I just kind of felt like posting a new view.

the thing that scares me is the fact that people want this.

they want to be like everyone else.

individualism? no. it's scary. who wants to be an individual when you can be just like everyone else without having to think about it?

people like conformity, and they don't even know it.

in the same day, i saw 4 different people wearing the shirt that said, "you laugh because i'm different. i laugh because you're all the same."

i laughed...
but it was the laugh of desperation and helplessness.

if people think they like what they are becoming, it will never stop. a singularity, a black hole. it will never stop.

do you feel as though there is nothing you can do?

so do i.

but there must be. there must be.
