So I've been debating a new car that last few months because the Ford Focus is falling apart and the repairs and upkeep over the next year or so are probably more than it's worth. So like any good citizen I want to shop for the best loan. First step is to pull my annual credit reports and FICO scores

Not only is it free one a year, but since there are three credit reporting agencies and you can get each of their reports annually, you can check one of the three every 4 months.
