Insanity is Contagious

Due to some perfectly valid criticism, I've decided to forgo on Asura's little killing spree in exchange for something much less intrusive as well as a bit more unique and in-character.

Having recently re-read the manga mainly for canon review for my other Soul Eater characters (since Asura is from the anime), I've been reminded of an ability beings of pure insanity have in the manga that Asura could logically be assumed to have, being the epitome of insanity and having been shown to basically have a far, far more powerful version of the ability in the form of his Insanity Wavelength. That probably read as a bunch of gibberish for anyone unfamiliar with Soul Eater, so I'll move onto the point.

The ability I'm referring to is called 'Insanity Infection' or 'Soul Infection'. Basically, what it involves is Asura using one of his scarf-tentacles to actually insert into someone's soul and, more-or-less, inject them with his own insanity, sort of like a syringe filled with crazy juice. What it does is makes the target's 'latent insanity' become not-so-latent: basically, this means any anxiety, suspicions, insecurities, fears, suppressed urges, or anything else similar that the character has suddenly become incredibly, incredibly strong. For anyone familiar with Soul Eater, Higurashi, various horror/suspense movies, or anything else that involves fear-related urges making someone go crazy will have exactly the idea of what would happen. Oh, characters infected by his insanity usually have nightmares or hallucinations (depending on just how badly they're being affected) involving a three-eyed monster (doing...just generally creepy things), but that's usually just something additional.

Of course, this doesn't affect everyone. You know those horror movies where everyone's literally being scared crazy except for that one person who manages to keep his or her crap together? Yeah, anyone with a strong will (courage, determination, stable mind--things like that) would be able to shrug it off with some effort, depending on how much they'd be affected in the first place. Some people simply do not have fears or suppressed urges (well, not incredibly strong ones, anyways, because it's easy to argue that anyone and everyone has them, assuming them to be human in most cases), so trying to infect them would likely do little. Magical medicines and powers related to healing and whatnot would likely be able to help or cure the infections, as would prooobably beating the crap out of Asura and/or getting him droned.

What I'd like to do with this is, once Asura regains the ability, for him to start trying to infect people for about a week, at which point he'll hopefully (and likely) have been cornered/beaten up/whatever (by Maka) and have his mental breakdown where he finally realizes why his logic is so flawed, at which point I canon update him to after the final anime episode.

This would probably be far more enjoyable than having a character get killed, because people could use this as a deus ex machina to get a character who is normally in control and stable to face their inner fears, insecurities, and all that, and--I would hope--successfully getting over them.

Since all he has to do to use this ability is have one of his magic crazy skin tentacles touch someone in the chest area, he doesn't need to sneak into any houses or anything like that. Whether it's having a tentacle creep through an open window or running into someone on the street, Asura doesn't need to be as sneaky about this as he would be killing people. Even if he gets caught, he'll either deny it or run away.

This'll only last a week, so I probably can't use a whole lot of volunteers. Maybe, like, eight, tops? No stipulations about being caught or being successful with this. He's going to likely try to target people who have shown themselves to be a bit scared or crazy OR people who are just humans, regardless of whether or not they seem scared or crazy at ALL. So, if a character has shown themselves (as in posts, since he stalks everyone's conversations like an Internet troll and will deny it as such) to have magic powers, super powers, or anything else that would make them extra dangerous, he'll be avoiding them. Of course, if they've kept them secret, then...well, he wouldn't know about them.

So, yeah, about half a dozen characters to attempt to be infected over a week. Just comment here about how you'd like it to go down (Asura is successful or the character gets away or whatever), I'll probably say 'okay!' and you can go right ahead and assume it happened.

Feel free to ask any questions, point out any flaws, or request clarifications here. If you want to do something a bit different or want one of your characters to catch on to/catch in the act/help freak out Asura, then go ahead and mention that, too.

Lastly, and most importantly, I'm gonna need one (or more, I guess--they'll just need to do it together) character to go at Asura and--rather than just beat him to a pulp--pound the concept of 'courage' into his head, specifically how courage can overcome fear. Now that Maka Albarn is back, priority for this goes to her.

I'm sorry to the people who wanted to participate in the murdering thing and I'm also sorry for the TL;DR here.
