So, I should have thrown this up earlier, but this is a general guide to why Eureka is special, why Nirvash is special, and so on. There are also questions for people who can sense sentience and other lifeforms, so if you're interested then get to clicking.

● Coralian

Surrounding the entire planet is a sentient life-form called Scab Coral. It possesses a central core that stays awake to force the rest of it to remain asleep, so that it does not accidentally trip the limit of life. (Don't ask.) Usually, the Scab Coral is benign and does not do much but create trapar which enable people to lift. However, at times, Coralians become present which then creates a problem. There are a number of varieties from the large Kute to the antibody Coralians, but they all tend to be dangerous to humans, especially the antibodies which will destroy anything in the surrounding area.

What does this matter to Eureka? Well, she is a Coralian, too. She was created by the Scab Coral just like the rest of the Coralians, but she has a different directive from them. Rather, she has no directive as she is meant to interact with humans and find out about them as the Scab Coral knows nothing about humanity for the most part. Eureka does have the composition of a normal human aside from her appearance, she was created rather than born, and so on. The only difference is that she does not age which lends a certain mystery to how old she really is.

From her point in canon, Eureka has not been exposed as a Coralian yet. They are viewed with suspicion and later growing anger, so it puts her in an awkward position. Eureka is not comfortable with her existence as a Coralian. So, she likely won't bring it up, and any comments on her behavior, appearance, and so on will be brushed off. She does have problems due to species differences, but she tends to sort through them in her own way, rather than looking for help from others.

>> As for camp, I am not sure who would be able to identify even half of this! That is, that Eureka is not human. If you think your character would be able to, then drop me a line and we can talk it out, but I am waiting for a Renton to turn up before broaching most of these issues.

● Nirvash

Nirvash is an essay unto itself, but for now . . . Like Eureka, Nirvash was created by the Scab Coral. That is, the archetype was and the armor that gives Nirvash its appearance was added on later by humans. Eureka spends a lot of the series talking with and in conflict with Nirvash while also teaching Renton to speak with it. However to most, it appears the same as if Eureka were talking with a toaster. (Which by the way, she will if you present her with one.) Even Holland, who knows most intimately about Eureka's origin and existence, writes off her talking with machines as her being more functional with them than humans.

However, Nirvash is, in fact, sentient. It thinks, acts, and even speaks as it chooses to. While Nirvash's intentions are a mystery, it serves mostly as a counterbalance to Eureka, encouraging her relationship with humans while also forcing her to come terms with truths about herself. Like I said, there is an essay waiting to be written about Nirvash's motivations and actions throughout the series, but the point is that Nirvash is very much alive and Eureka is not that crazy.

>> Now, while most are not aware of Nirvash's sentience in canon, camp is an entirely different story. If your character would be able to tell that something is alive underneath it all, then talk to me! Eureka would be excited to have other people talk with her about Nirvash.

If there are questions, then go ahead and ask! I can go on about this crazy canon forever and ever.
