[YGO] One Shot - Game Over.

Three mini-fics in a night... whooooo. This one is actually based from a song. It was harassing my brain all day. sdfkjdfkjskjfk. I also like how my Weevil journal has become my fic journal :| Wat.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Game over. There are no rules in this game except win.
At any cost.

Yes. Winning was all that was important.

The time has come.
Once and for all.
You've met your match.
You will fall.

The money. The fame. The attention. That was all he cared about when he stood on that platform. As he drew his cards he felt his breath hitch, it gave him a feeling of power... A feeling that when he wasn't standing so high was nearly non-existant...

This little game we play is gonna break us down,
only one of us can wear the crown.
It's not as easy as you thought it'd be,
when it's down to you versus me.

Even friendship didn't matter when it came to standing before that screaming crowd, the feeling of adrenaline coursing through the veins as the heat of dueling grew stronger every second.

I play rough
I don't need to try
You'd like to play me
But the score never lies

Just the desire to win was what ran him. What moved his fingers. That moment of bliss at the sight of his opponent breaking down before him... Sometimes they even cried. Every time the pleasure of winning boosted him higher and higher. He had begun to desire that feeling more than anything... it had become a drug. He tore through everyone that stood in his way to keep those ultimate, sweet victories coming...

Game Over.
For now.

Even his best friend was tore down to keep his addiction running strong... He wasn't sorry. He didn't regret it. Sure, he had swiped away his best friend's dreams and a chance to make more money than he'd ever need...

But it was worth it. He'd do it again.

Winnin' the game
The only rule around
No more good luck
Or cheers from the crowd.

In time his joy was taken away, the victory and thrill of winning snatched away by some newbie kid who had just gotten his foot through the door into the dueling world... His addiction was forcefully snatched away. Taken at his prime...

When the game began you never thought you'd lose.
But your time is up I play to bruise.
You look around and find you've lost your team.
You tried your best but you ran out of steam.

His fans. His fame. His pride. All snatched away by a bout of luck (perhaps a bit of a Pharaoh's skill), and a deck of cards. He had lost in the place he never thought he could... He had taken into account all of his own strengths, had built himself up to have the perfect defense.

I play rough
I don't need to try
You'd like to play me
But the score never lies

So he chased him, like a moth to a flame. Wishing desperately to get that joy back into his life... The one thing that he felt gave his life meaning...

He had money, so what? Other people had money. Sure, it was 'just a game', but it was his title that was snatched away. His. No one else was allowed to have it, and he was willing to do anything to get it back. Whether it was betrayal, thievery, sabotage... Even if he had to sell his soul, he would get his revenge on Yuugi Motou.

You're all out of wishes
Kiss your dreams goodbye
The end's the same.

But he would never win. He was destined to fight him forever. Destined to lose over and over again.

Years passed and he still felt the same burning hatred in his heart and soul toward the duelist that had taken what rightfully belonged to him away... but the pain had faded. The urge for revenge had slowly died... His travels along the way had helped him realize something about himself; he needed help. It was just a game. A game that had consumed his life...

He wasn't going to take it. Not anymore.

Game Over.

Yuugi Motou had finally won.
