[It's a beautiful day, and the air seems to have a calm serene sense to it. In her dream, Yuffie is outside in a large garden in Wutai. She is dressed in a kimono, which is green and gold, colors which suits her perfectly ( Read more... )

[He couldn't remember how he'd gotten here, or where he'd come from, but he knew he was painfully out of place.

Everything here was perfect - like some sort of dream - but not the sort of dream he belonged in. This place was foreign, and he was an intruder, sullying something that should have stayed clean and pure. He was too rugged and rough around the edges for a place like this. Next to the exotic beauty of the garden he was suddenly standing in, he felt shabby in his dirty, black suit with his messy, tangled hair.

He knew he wasn't welcome here; it was all wrong for him, and he had to find a way out. They looked rich and too elegant for the likes of him, but if he asked the ladies in the kimonos, maybe they would tell him how to get out...]

[Any other time, her mind would have jumped at the sight of him. He had to be a Turk, for the way he looked. But she didn't, this time. She smiled.]

Are you looking for someone?

[She managed to remember to ask in the language of the mainland - he had to be a Mainlander, right?]

[One of the ladies spoke to him. At first, he couldn't understand what she was saying. She was speaking in some foreign language...or maybe it was a language he could understand. Maybe it was both. Before he could figure it out, he found himself answering.]

Uh.

[Apparently, he was just as eloquent around pretty girls in dreams as he was in real life. The one who had spoken to him was more than a pretty girl, though. She was...angelic. This really much be a dream. Girls like this didn't exist in real life, did they? He could have sworn she was actually glowing.

Maybe he was dead. Did that make this place heaven? Not that he'd know, but he'd always pictured heaven a little less...exotic.]

[Even in her dreams, we never promised Yuffie Kisaragi would have developed tact.]

Hey, I said, "Are you looking for someone?"!

[She asked again in Wutaian, just to be safe. Luckily for him, Yuffie had the amazing ability to walk in those Planet-cursed-sandals she hated in real life, and walked gracefully over to him, almost expectantly.

But then she threw a glance over her shoulder, as if to make sure the woman who was not quite her mother hadn't disappeared as easily as she had come.]

It seemed--somehow--Rufus had wandered into a garden. Wutain by the looks of it. He didn't know of any other culture with the frame of mind to cultivate rocks, that was a certainty. Junon would have been preferred, but at least it was somewhere he new. The logistics of how he went from a house on the outskirts of Edge to a park to this place escaped him, but he'd look into them soon enough.

Wandering the carefully tended paths, eyes open for perhaps a cellphone, or better yet a helicopter, he found something unexpected. A certain woman girl. A member of AVALANCHE. Yuffie Kisaragi if he recalled correctly and he always did. Yuffie Kisaragi in a kimono. The tiniest of smirks curled the corners of his lips as he stepped out from between carefully trimmed "wild" plants.

From the corner of her eye she saw someone she knew, and turned. She was quite alone by this point, and this was...Rufus ShinRa?! He seemed so out of place here, he did not belong in this dream, in this world.

But she had nothing to hate, or fear, right? His company meant nothing in her dream of Wutai. They were independent. He was just a man, with bad taste in clothing and a cocky attitude.

Forgetting any sense of decorum in a hurry, she called, "Hey. You. What're you doing here?"

Rufus looked around the garden with an appraising eye that said, "these bushes aren't worth nearly enough to pay for my time". He kept her waiting a second longer before replying.

"Kisaragi."

There was half a world of ego in that word, and even more on Rufus's face. "Looking for that layabout of yours...Godo. He's decided to offer different tourist attractions I see, not that they're worth much."

Okay, no. This was her dream, and she was not going to be talked to like that by some ass who decided to make himself kind of the world. She was so angry she could punch him.

And then she did. This was her dream, and she would punch whoever on the Planet she felt like, thank you very much. And, Da Chao, did that feel good.

"Oh, whoops. Guess I let myself get carried away." Expect her tone was not saying that, at all.
