Okay, having recovered, lol, I want to thank you so much for letting me know that you liked this.
I just love the idea of Will working over his anvil to forge a sword for Elizabeth. And you just know that he'd do it too. It's probably the most important blade he's ever made.
I'm so glad you let me know that you liked this. Thanks again.
This was actually something I wrote awhile back when I was on vacation, in long-hand, no less.
Not only would this be a labor of love for Will, but I can't imagine that he would give Elizabeth all those sword fighting lessons and then not see to it that she is equipped with anything less than the best. And only he can forge the best.
Thanks again for letting me know that you enjoyed this.
Well done! And I know how she feels! I worked an estate sale so that I could collect a really pitiful sword as my bounty. I've had knieves of one kind or another all my life, got the scars to prove it. He would have made a beauty for her--to suit her strength, her reach, her quickness.
"a gleaming length of steel lying on a bed of silk." pretty words these put together to tell her present...makes me want to touch the blade that doesn't exist...it would feel so luscious. Good one---Will should be pleased.

(I'd sort of forgotten that he was a swordsmith).

Sword, knife, axe, I don't care what weapon he brings. He can actually bring them all, because I'm a sucker for a guy who's good with weapons.
I'm so glad you liked it. Thanks.
