Well that was a load of.....

Hey guys, remember that time last year I went to see some people dress up? Well here they are! It`s taken me about a year to post them, I feel terrible guys, really I do. Gomen.

EXTREME! IMAGE! OVERLOAD!
You have been warned XD

This is the first time I attended a con for more than one day. It started on Friday, the day of the Nominoichi. I went as Seychelles from Hetalia. A few weeks earlier I started working on the costume. Now, mind you, this was the first garment I ever made without really using a pattern. It turned out nice but I failed to give my underarms enough fabric space so my sleeves didn`t allow me to move my arms up and down.
When I arrived at the con I had to go and pick on my ticket as well as make it to the Nominoichi (anime fan market) because I was selling my anime goods. It was hard to part with but because we were moving I had to get rid of a lot, and instead of throwing it into a landfill I decided to make some dough selling it.

That`s me by my dealer`s table. It`s a good think I rented out a full table because as you can see I had more items in boxes under the table.

I think this is the first photo I have ever posted here that was of myself. This was my costume. It was fun to make and I learned a lot from sewing it.

This dress is awesome! I bet she made it from Batman sheets, pretty cool.

You all know I love Jrock right? So you know it`s not a con without seeing a concert, ya? There were three Jrock bands playing Saturday night. I really like how Jrock North Productions brings over more of the underground bands. My first Jrock concert was back in 2010 where I saw Luzmelt (now disbanded *sniffles*). After that I made it my priority to see the bands no matter what, whether I liked them or not.

First up was Adaptor. He was really energetic and so was his music, a lot of techno.

Second up was Marlee. They were more rock than Adaptor. Now this band was super energetic, almost hyper. The keyboard player would literally jump into the audience and run around giving people high-fives. After the third time a security guard had to tell me not to, I guess for his safety - there were some very...emotional fan girls in the audience.

Unfortunately, my camera died so I wasn`t able to take photos of the last band. The last band was Lix. They were okay, a bit more relaxed with the occasional scream.

That concludes my Anime North 2012 experience. Now onto the next...

Day 1

It was so packed that I could only get an outside photo. I hope they have AC4 at this years con.

These two sculptures were made entirely out of lego.

I found Effie in the zombie-horror area. She didn`t seem to be enjoying herself there, maybe because she was stuck behind the booth all day.

the van from the film A Little Bit Zombie.

Cute couple I saw, I caved and got a pic of them.

All aboard, it`s time to go back to the future!

Classic!

When you left the convention you literally walk into this. Too bad no one was allowed to drive it :(

Another cute couple just enjoying the con and the good weather.

I got my pic taken on that chair. It was pretty cool! Plus it was free!

Oh you, Princess Peach!

My first ever encounter with Ikkaku! More people should cosplay him :(

Day 2

On day 2 I decided to attend some panels. The above images are from a armoury panel. The speaker is based in Ottawa and makes armour and weapons for films and he has even done work at the Parliaments.

There was a section of the convention floor just for Tim Burton`s Frankenweenie. Clay animation is awesome but I must say I prefer the original live action of Frankenweenie from back in the day. I`ve noticed that Timmy doesn`t make original films anymore, they are mostly remakes.

Best energy drink ever! No caffeine, no artificial flavours.

A trip to a convention isn`t a trip without some spoils!

At the EBGames booth if you bought anything (t-shirt for me) you got a free artbook of Darksiders. Even got a free bag.

Some game promo freebies. Totally want to play Dishonored.

Me on the Iron Throne.

It was too funny, I had to take a pick of this MAD mask. Who knew MAD was still popular these days.

Free eco bag I got from a TV channel booth.

The only thing I bought with money was this little guy. He had a wire that if you turn or push the end his head moves.

con eco bag.

Remember that caffeine free drink I mentioned before? It's called Purple Rain. When I got to the table the demonstrators were on break so I decided to wait until they came back. I ended up chatting with the guy who was manning the table, apparently that con was the first one he has ever been to. He asked me about cons and cosplay. He was super nice because when I told him I had to go catch my bus home he took out a full can and gave it to me. He wasn't suppose to give out the cans, they were there to fill the small cups for passer-bys.
I got the Tropical Mango one.

And that concludes my con adventures from last year.

cosplay, anime, convention
