♣ The update came just because I loved the art from this new AU series, Thor, the Mighty Avenger, and wanted to use the scans I'd found for icons. I was never entirely thrilled with the varying art styles I'd been using to piece together his icons before--much as I loved the animated teen!Thor ones, that movie wasn't coming out till next year and I didn't have enough right now, so I scrapped them and went with slightly-older-but-still-young!Thor instead. Because the shift in art style was so dramatic, I also wanted to make the change IC to be consistent with the new icons--so I asked the mods for an age up, and lo! Here we are, with a Thor who's looking more 18-20-ish than 16 like he used to be

♣ Rocket's doing fine, but alas--he's not really been doing much of his stated job, as I've only been getting him out in fits and starts (as usual with my new characters). He's sort of the most back-burner-ish of my crew right now--sooner or later I'm gonna find the proper niche for him and go with it, but for now I'm only bringing him out every so often. Camp doesn't bother him--as a starfaring space raccoon, he's been in wackier and wilder situations plenty of times before. So far, Camp is bush league.

♣ Mullin is... IDK, dude. I've always been a slow starter when it comes to characters, and Mullin--being not that much older than Rocket, even though he's pushing a year in Camp--still feels (ICly and OOCly) like he hasn't quite hit his stride in Camp just yet. Still, he's come an awful long way--the craziness that happened during and after the Camp relocation, with the cultists and monsters and stuff, was actually good for Mullin. It gave him a chance to step up and do the one thing he's really good at--be a soldier and take it to

♡ Angel Beats! is what happens when you give dumb kids who can't die weapons. In all seriousness, it's about Otonashi Yuzuru, an amnesiac kid who wakes up in the Afterlife (modeled like a school) and joins a group of kids (the SSS) to rebel against God, because they want to stick it to the Man for giving them such awful lives when they were alive. But all of them are idiots, so while serious things do happen and Jun Maeda does do his best to punch you in your heartplace, they also do a lot of stupid things that tend to involve them dying or getting maimed. But it's okay they get better guys!!

♡ IT'S ... a mixed bag, I think! I wouldn't call trappiness one of my pings -- in fact, I usually don't have that much interest in men who dress like girls, or girls who try to dress as boys. Their motivations for crossdressing may range from "for the lulz" or because what they dress as is what they identify as, which, while I can certainly like characters like that, it doesn't ping me in my app place

♡ A shounen retard or someone who spazzes (which can sometimes be one in the same), I think. They both have a sort of bounce and spontaneity that I don’t think I’m capable of properly portraying. Shounen retards are generally complex or developed in ways that don’t interest me, and their outward attitudes/inner workers are things that I would probably burn out quickly playing because it’s so completely different from what I usually like and can play.

♡ Kuroyuri is booooored. Sie used to be frustrated and annoyed but semi-entertained before, but now sie is just like ehhhhh. Nothing can be done about the Church situation, nothing in particular is happening on the BH front, Noise went home, and sie hasn’t killed people in ever. ATM sie is not really bothered by stalkerFelli/Layfon because sie is bored enough to just want to stab someone and do something lively for once, consequences or no. But at the same time, sie is considering whether or not killing a few people will really help, or will sie need a boatload to sate hir. But it’s also

♣ Peter is from one of my favorite animated movies from childhood, Flight of Dragons, which is basically what happens when you take a D&D fanboy and throw him into a high fantasy novel. The trick to Peter is that his science background allows him to have one foot in magic and one in science. It also allows him to go off on completely dork tangents most of the movie. I loved it because I loved the scientific explanations for dragon fire, dragon flight, sleeping on gold and other things. Plus, James Earl Jones sounds really fucking creepy as the main bad guy, and his evil dragon looks so cool

-Answering Narumi's canon first since I'm gonna talk about him more in a bit. He comes from Gakuen Alice (AKA Alice Academy) which is about a little girl called Mikan who runs away from home and travels all the way across Japan to find her BFF who moved away, and finds herself at a special school for kids with magic powers. It's a fluffy comedy series at heart but it gets really dark and screwed up in places because parts of the school administration are using the kids with particularly useful powers to do Bad Things, and also have it in for Mikan because of some things that happened in the past. Narumi is Mikan's teacher and a bit of a father figure for her, and he's also involved in the mysterious things that happened in the past that you spend most of the manga slowly learning about
