WikiPoint in canon: A year after the end of II, making Luc about 19
Character Background: Luc originated in the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia as a clone of the High priest Hikusaak made up of a conglomeration of parts; he was meant to be a container for a True Rune (Wind, in his case) along with his twin, Sasarai. Note that True Runes are a VERY big deal. There are only 27 of them and they give their bearer crazy badass power and eternal youth. Due to some flaw in the process Luc became defective, and as a result the True Wind Rune became welded to his very soul, unable to be taken from him even using traditional Rune-lifting techniques. Luc was locked away until about the age of seven, when Lady Leknaat kidnapped/rescued him and brought him to live with her alone on Magician’s Isle. Under the Blind Seer Leknaat’s wisdom and kindness, Luc grew to be a somewhat unruly prankster with an antisocial personality. At the age of thirteen Leknaat enrolled Luc’s services in the Gate Rune (Toran Liberation) War, where he guarded the Stone Tablets of Destiny, which kept track of the name and stars of the 108 Stars of Destiny, and fought. Three years later she once again drafted him into the Dunan Unification War. During the war he encountered his brother Sasarai and showed the first spark of interest in the war effort, volunteering to drive off Sasarai’s Harmonian Unit, which he did eagerly.
A short time after the war ended, Lady Leknaat and Luc rescued a young girl named Sarah and brought her to Magician’s Isle, where Luc raised her as his apprentice. Around this same time Luc began to have terrible horrible prophetic visions of an empty world brought on by his True Wind Rune. Spurred by these, Luc infiltrated Harmonian Society along with Sarah, becoming a Bishop with the help of Albert Silverberg. Using his status Luc hunted the remaining elemental runes - earth, fire, water, and lightning- so that he could destroy himself and his True Wind Rune, hopefully disrupting the destiny that would eventually lead mankind to the blank, colorless world of Dharma, the God of Order. Unfortunately, destroying True Wind could have potentially mean destroying half the continent it was currently on, the Grasslands. A native Grasslander and the inheritor of the True Fire Rune, Hugo of Karaya, rallies the 108 Stars of destiny and eventually defeats Luc. He dies along with Sarah, finally acknowledging his own human soul.
Luc is often angry, sarcastic, disrespectful, and hostile to everyone who approaches, regardless of intention. Lately, his visions have unsettled him, and he has become more prone to bouts of sullen quietness and distraction. He is starting to become the serious, bitter man he will be as an adult, but he is still a snarky teenager for the most part. Though Luc has little affection for individual people (The only exception being Lady Leknaat, who he esteems highly), he does have a lingering affection for mankind in general, despite declarations to the contrary and his own alienation. He has seen much combat, first hand and through the memories of his Rune, and though his later actions seem like madness to most, Luc went through with his plan with the sincere hope of freeing man kind from their history of terrible bloodshed.
Presently, Luc is 19 and has just began having said visions a few months ago, and he has not yet met Sarah.
Word About Runes: Runes are the primary source of magic in Luc's world and True Runes are their more primal, powerful ancestors. There are only twenty-seven, several of which aren't even known, and they kind of a Big Deal. Besides a CRAZY amount of power they also grant the bearer eternal youth, and additionally the bearer has access to all the Runes memories, though some see more than others. Luc, being unaturally close to his Rune, sees a LOT. Though he was a fairly powerful magician back in his own world the chip has reduced him thusly: He can no longer teleport and only has enough power to, say, throw a full grown man against a wall once of twice. He can also still put a character asleep depending on whether or not they're a boss their willpower. He can heal himself and other people, anything from cuts and bruises to broken bones. True Wind looks like
this and it's located on the back of his right hand, though he usually keeps it covered.
As for pinging, someone could easily sense his rune, but would have a much harder time sensing his odd relationship with it or the fact that Luc is not technically human.
Sexual Orientation: Anti-sexual. This is a guy who in all probability dies at the age of 32 a virgin. Luc hates and distrusts people in general, and is disgusted by his own body, which he considers not to be human. His apprentice Sarah was in love with him, and Luc returned her feelings, but their relationship was mostly based the fact that Sarah was the only other person besides Leknaat who understood Luc and his condition and accepted him anyway. Men and women both, in short, have an equal chance to get shot down without bias.
Sample Post: Luc thought, This dream again and Harmonia! at the same time, and both thoughts became I’ve been dreaming of Harmonia this whole time. and at this realization, his heart fairly stopped beating. The featureless monochrome world True Wind had been showing him lately and the pale, blank walls of the Circle Palace - they were the same. True Wind had been warning him? But when had this happened, the last thing he remembered he was doing the dishes and his hands weren’t even wet and how-
“Welcome to Micro-Metropolis.”
As Luc spun around looking for the speaker, his foot kicked the bag at his feet, spilling its contents of his clothes. That didn’t make any sense. Surely Harmonia wouldn’t have bothered to bring his clothes - or, come to think, strip him naked but for some parchment - but that left dreaming his only option. And True Wind wouldn’t bother packing him a bag with his clothes for its… foray into previsional memories. Belatedly, he noticed the voice again but he only caught the last word, ‘laptop’, before it was silent.
Cautiously, he padded over to the only other object in the room, a flat square on the desk. The laptop, he figured. It seemed to hum, almost, like True Wind when it was sensing another True Rune. But True Wind itself was silent, and... silenced? Something was limiting its power. His captors must have done it, but who ever heard of a spell that half-silenced you? Perhaps it was wearing off. He didn’t want to make any drastic moves when he was only at half-capacity and so began to feel around the square box until he found a catch and slid it open, revealing that the box split into two. The top box lit suddenly, making Luc jump, and then a box a text popped up. Luc began to read it.
