I noticed that many of the kids in my classes just want to pass and really don't give a damn about their education. They feel like they're forced to be there and don't really care much about it to begin with. I was like this when I was going to school right out of high school. However, now that I'm going back, I'm looking at things whole new perspective. I actually give a crap and want to do well. I think people who go back to school have more drive to do well than your average college kid. They actually give a damn as opposed to getting trashed every night until the night before the test to study.
This might be why you probably did better than 90% of the other kids there. You actually cared. :)

really, i swear i'm not. i apparently just "lucked out" and only ever got teachers that had no real expectations, 'cause i didn't learn anything. after getting a's in all 3 programming classes, you'd expect that i could at least figure out what a chunk of code is supposed to do, right? WRONG. i also can't even figure out pseudo-code for things i have to write. there is absolutely no reason i should have passed several of my classes, and here i am, getting awards!
