... Wow.

On the 24th of this month I will have been on LiveJournal for fourteen years. And knowing that has made me all weird and nostalgic, remembering how active some fandoms used to be - even just my own little corners. I remember not being able to keep up with my flist if I was away from it more than a couple of days - kinda like Tumblr is now, but none ( Read more... )

The two paragraphs before the last... story of my life. :) It's hard balancing. In fact, I don't think I ever achieve it but as long as I'm not feeling too pressured by myself, I get by and have fun. LJ felt very slow when I returned to fandom, but now I actually like it more - I'm interacting a lot more with people when before I was always behind.

Happy LJ-versary - a little bit early! :)

It's hard to believe that LJ is such a ghost town now. It was so lively for so long.

I want to write as well, but I just can't even seem to start. I'm too caught up in other stuff at the moment. I just don't feel the urge as strongly as I once did. And I know that all I have to do is start and it'll happen, but I just don't seem to start. le sigh.

*huge huggles* I hope you find time to follow your heart!

That last paragraph...man, I feel you. I'm right there with ya. There just aren't enough hours in the day, and in most of those hours, I don't have enough energy to do anything more than what I absolutely have to do. Which is work.

HAI!

I don't think it's entirely a coincidence that my most productive writing years were also the years that some fandoms were overwhelmingly active on LJ. That's not the only factor, but it definitely helped. There was always something sparking one idea or the other

Boy do I feel you on this.

Tumblr is definitely way more passive, and it's not formatted for discourse. I missed LJ, with its sense of community. I never got a sense of community with Tumblr.
