Strikes me as slightly odd that hardly any of my lj friends have made any reference to the fact that we now have a new prime minister (after that brief worrying gap inbetween when presumably Prezza was in charge). Nick Robinson spoke at length about this interegnum. So for what was it, a few hours, no-one was in charge. I can't believe any terrorist groups missed that golden opportunity.

Not like those groups in my day, oh no... :)

But anyway, what would exactly be the difference anyway? Blair may have come up with some hair-brained schemes (to put it lightly) but it was Brown who found the money for them. It is also Brown who is obsessed with keeping public spending off-balance sheet, which is why we have crap PFI schools and hospitals.

I remember a silly thing about Bush being asked in an intelligence test "who, alive or dead, would you invite to a dinner party?" His answer was "the living one". Which is either thinking "out-of-the-box" or plain stupid.
