Norrington, that flawed, all-too-human Scourge of Piracy, adds so much to PotC. He is a great character, brilliantly acted, and the movies just wouldn't be the same, or as good and interesting, without him. Your clear-eyed vision of him is captured beautifully in this essay. Great work!

It was a fun challenge to put my thoughts about him into semi-coherent form. Default for me is more handwavy and, "Well, you know, he's um....like that." *g* It all goes into the fic. Meta is unfamiliar territory. I'm glad you think it works.
